Hi John the Netflix Premium has more value then it's given credit for it's maybe way too pricey however even though many shows aren't in 4k per as they are offered in Dolby Atmos and HDR so the video quality is amazing and the spatial audio really adds to to if you do premium then drop to Full HD you will not be happy with the quality

This is just a back door way of raising their prices. Instead of being honest and up front, and saying that they’re raising their prices, they instead get rid of a popular plan. Then they make you subscribe to a more costlier plan instead, if you want to continue subscribing to Netflix. DIRTY POOL!!! They think by doing it this way, less people will drop Netflix. But the opposite will be true, for people don’t like being deceived and manipulated. I for one am glad that I don’t, and never have, subscribe to Netflix. And with business practices like this, I never will!!!

Welcome to the plan. I'd cancel my Standard plan before I'd go with ads. I have not seen an ad in my content since I canceled directv back in 2010. By then I was already on NF with dvds and streaming. As you know, not only no ads, but no on-screen crap. I just recently had my new 75" tv installed on my living room wall, so I will be setting up the Onn Pro 4K so I can see my NF stuff, along with amazon prime (not sure yet if I will be paying the monthly $3 extortion for the no-ads) and my Paramount+ Essentials. I am hoping that watching the last channel via the Onn will still be ad-free but if not, then I will continue to watch its stuff via my Chrome browser with the you-know-what blockers. Of course once "G" knee-caps them, if I am stuck with the ads, then I might as well watch them on the 75" instead of the 32" computer screen. At least though the P+ is free courtesy of the Walmart+ free promo.

I have come to the conclusion that I hate Netflix. I hate the fact that on their ad supported plan all of their content is not available. That is bullshit. Because some of that content includes Netflix created content. And they say it’s because of licensing agreements. How can they have licensing issues with their own content? I would be willing to pay a dollar or two more a month and get 100% of their content on the ads supported plan. Second, they never offer any deals like Max and Hulu do. And the reason for that is probably they are not a big corporation like Disney or time warner. And they can’t afford to give any kind of a discount or special rate. I am perfectly happy with getting Hulu and/or Max when they have special prices.

The only service I still have is amazon prime and that has more to do with the prime shipping. I cancelled max, Netflix,hulu. i basically just watch amazon prime and all the "free" services like Pluto,freevee,roku,plex,tubi and even RUclips has free movies now with ads.

The adds are light on Netflix. We don't mind ads.

I love netflix so nope not cancelling my netflix i use it a lot. I was already on standard anyway. I don't subscribe to cable tv or sattelite.

It's very tough because NF does have a ton a content. When sharing went down I subscribed to the cheaper plan so my wife could watch Vikings series...and then promptly found out it was locked on the cheap plan. I bumped up to standard. She binged, she loved it, it was worth it. But we also like many docu-series and such, many that I'll wager would be locked if not for the standard plan. I believe the amount of locked content is much more than a 'few' things. I'm sure it's many things. But if netflix viewing drops off here it will be dropped when needed. The battle for my dollar rests between Max and Netflix and when the half price deal ends next year for Max I'll probably drop it and keep netflix.

Those w/ Verizon wireless or Home 5G may have special offers. I paid $120 for a year of Netflix w/o ads and Paramount Plus premium.

I have had the basic no ads plan for over a year. When I signed up Netflix informed me that if I should cancel basic no ads plan it would no longer be available, so they had a captive customer because I did not want to lose the low price. I just cannot understand why Netflix is making me choose another plan or cancel. They had a good paying customer, month after month. Now I will probably cancel for now, and restart with the higher priced option only when I see something that interests me and cancel at the end of that month. So in the long run, Netflix will loose income from me. Stupid idea Netflix! Your survey said almost 50% were going to cancel. So I am not alone in this. All I need is 1 screen and 720P is high enough definition for me. Like you folks, I cannot tolerate ads, so ad support plans are not an option for me.

I canceled Netflix in 2022 best decision l ever made

I don't subscribe to Netflix very often, but when I do I get the standard w/o adds because it's HD, and like you, I HATE ADDS. HD resolution is fine for me and IMO 4k is overated.

I have ad support it’s not bad one at beginning maybe 1 or 2 more. The draw back is some shows are blocked not bad. I don’t usually watch everyday either! That’s all I can afford!

Personally I think having a good receiver goes a long way. I don't really like the Gemini air. I think if you are streaming live tv, ethernet connectivity is a must. I love the remote, but the dongle sucks. I think ATT needs to just sell their stake of DIRECTV already. DIRECTV needs to launch new receivers and the company needs to rebrand with a satellite and streaming side. I have lived through the entire early days of DIRECTV and into the 2000s and I loved it. ATT marked the worst era for the satellite company.

We’re all Frugal here, but it’s worth it to pay the extra $6 for Premium Plus to not have ads while watching replays. I have the $20 Black Friday deal on the annual Premium plan. I was able to upgrade to Plus for $6. I assume I’ll be able to downgrade after the Olympics, but if I can’t and I’m stuck with this until November, that’s okay.

I saw a story about local (well, local to me here in the NYC area) folks who are going to be participating. One was a break dancer. Yes, Break Dancing is now an olympic sport. Who knew? I wish you all good luck in sitting through all the ads that the nbc family will be throwing at the walls. And of course the huge peacock logo that makes the old style nbc peacock logo almost invisible. And of course as with all nbc stuff, you get the rings on the screen too. At least during the event, it makes sense, but I've never liked seeing them the other 3 3/4 years when there was not any game going on. I will be watching my regular streaming stuff and YT channels, including this one, so I look forward to hearing how the experience turns out, especially with the river and the opening shindig.

I used to be big on the Olympics but the media's obsession with Medal Counts really turned me off. Who cares who wins medals it's not supposed to be about winning medals. It's about representing your country and challenging yourself against the best athletes in the World in your sport. Anything else, is gravy.
